mesomere effect

effect produced on an experimental variable, such as a reaction rate, by an atom or group of atoms introduced as a substituent in a reference entity, due to the creation or extension of an electron delocalisation.


mesomerism

method of representing  the real structure of a molecular entity where bonding electrons are delocalized; this method considers this entity as an intermediate between two or more hypothetical structures.
